A. 
The drug-free and drunk-driving-free zone map. The Drug-Free/Drunk-Driving-Free Zone Map of the Borough of Maywood, dated March 2015 and revised May 2019 and prepared by Neglia Engineering Associates, Borough Engineer, is approved and adopted as an official finding and record of the location and areas of said zones within the Borough. These zones are defined as 1,000 feet on or near school property and 500 feet from a public housing facility, public park or a public building. Additionally, pursuant to New Jersey D.W.I. law, N.J.S.A. 39:4-50(g), said zones cover driving under the influence within 1,000 feet of a school facility.

B. 
This designation shall apply for the purposes of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7, which prohibits drug offenses within 1,000 feet of schools and 500 feet from a public housing facility, public park or a public building, along with P.L. 1999, c. 185, and N.J.S.A. 39:4-50(g), which prohibits driving under the influence and other offenses within 1,000 feet of schools.
In accordance with and pursuant to the authority of P.L. 1999, c. 185, the following is a list of school crossings that have been so designated by the Borough of Maywood:

Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7 and 2C:35-7.1, the map entitled "Drug-Free Zones of the Borough of Maywood, Bergen County, New Jersey, dated March 2015 and revised May 2019 and prepared by Neglia Engineering Associates, Borough Engineer" shall be approved as the official finding and location of drug-free zones in the Borough of Maywood pursuant to the provisions of the above-referenced statutes.
The Drunk-Driving-Free School Zones Map and Drug-Free Zone Map approved and adopted pursuant to this chapter shall continue to constitute an official finding and record as to the location and boundaries of areas on or within 500 feet of parks and public buildings and 1,000 feet of property owned by or leased to any elementary or secondary school or school board that is used for school purposes until such time, if any, that this chapter shall be amended to reflect any additions or deletions with respect to the location and boundaries of these properties and zones. The list of school crossings shall continue to constitute an official finding and record of the location of school crossing zones within the Borough until such time, if any, that this chapter shall be amended to reflect any additions or deletions with respect to school crossing zones in the Borough.
The school board, or the chief administrative officer in the case of any private or parochial school, is hereby directed and shall have the continuing obligation to promptly notify the office of the Borough Engineer and the Borough Attorney of any changes in, or contemplated changed in, the location and boundaries of any property owned by or leased to any elementary or secondary school or school board and that is used for school purposes or of any additions or deletions to school crossings.
The Borough Clerk is hereby directed to receive and to keep on file the original of the maps approved and adopted pursuant to this chapter and the list of school crossings and to provide at a reasonable cost a true copy thereof to any person, agency or court that may from time to time request a copy, along with a certification that the copy is a true copy of the map or list approved and adopted herein and kept on file. It is hereby further directed that a true copy of the maps and lists and of this chapter shall be provided without cost to the Bergen County Clerk and to the office of the Bergen County Prosecutor.
It is understood that the maps and list approved and adopted pursuant to this chapter were prepared and are intended to be used as evidence in prosecutions arising under the criminal and traffic laws of this state and that, pursuant to state law, the maps and list shall constitute prima facie evidence of the following;
A. 
The location of elementary and secondary schools within the municipality.
B. 
The boundaries of the real property that is owned by or leased to such schools or a school board.
C. 
That such school property is and continues to be used for school purposes.
D. 
The location and boundaries of areas that are on or within 1,000 feet of such school property.
E. 
The location of all school crossings in the Borough.
F. 
The location of public housing, parks and buildings.
G. 
The location and boundaries of areas that are on or within 500 feet of public housing, parks and buildings.
