The holder of either plenary retail consumption license or club license shall not sell, serve, deliver or allow, permit or suffer the sale, service, delivery or consumption of any alcoholic beverage upon the licensed premises during the following hours:
A. 
Monday through Saturday, except New Year's Day, between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
B. 
Sunday, except New Year's Day, between 2:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

C. 
New Year's Day, between 3:00 a.m. and the appropriate opening hour as set forth in Subsections A and B above.

The holder of a plenary retail distribution license and the holder of a plenary retail consumption license shall be allowed to sell liquor in its original container on Sundays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
During the hours that sales are hereinabove prohibited, the entire licensed premises shall also be closed and no person shall remain thereon, except the licensee and bona fide employees of the licensee, but this section shall not apply to a bona fide hotel, to a restaurant holding a restaurant license, to clubs or their associations licensed pursuant to N.J.S.A. 33:1-12, or to other establishments where the principal business is other than the sale of alcoholic beverages.

The annual fee for a plenary retail consumption license shall be $1,400.

A person convicted of a violation of this article shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II, General Penalty.
