Pursuant to the provisions of the Second Class Township Code, there be and is hereby created a Park and Recreation Board to be known as the "Bethel Township Park and Recreation Board."

The Park and Recreation Board shall consist of either five, seven or nine members appointed by the Board of Supervisors.

Members of the Park and Recreation Board shall serve for a term of five years; provided, however, that at any time the Board of Supervisors shall increase the membership of the Park and Recreation Board, it shall stagger the terms of any added memberships so that no more than two terms expire in any given calendar year. All persons appointed shall serve their full terms unless voluntarily resigned or removed by the Board of Supervisors for dereliction or neglect of duty.
The Park and Recreation Board shall have the authority to equip, supervise and maintain park and recreation facilities, to conduct recreation programs, and in general to do all and everything authorized by law for the furtherance of the stated purposes.
Said Park and Recreation Board shall elect its own Chairman and Secretary and any other officers it deems necessary to serve as officers for a period of one year. It shall adopt rules and regulations for the conduct of business within its jurisdiction.
