The Mayor and Council of the Town of Clinton may declare by resolution
a drought emergency in the event of the following:
A. The water level in the water storage facilities supplying
water to the Town of Clinton water system has fallen below safe levels;
B. The use of pumped groundwater by the Town of Clinton
for its water supply system is approaching the maximum amounts authorized
by diversion permits issued by the State of New Jersey; or
C. It is imperative to the public well-being that certain
uses of water, not essential to the health, welfare and safety of the public,
be restricted.
