[Adopted 11-25-2008 by Ord. No. 08-18]
The Town of Clinton hereby establishes the following
regulations for the use by the public of the Fire Department parking
lot, said rules and regulations to be enforced by the Police Department.
[Amended 6-14-2016 by Ord. No. 16-05]
Public parking is permitted in marked and numbered spaces on the north side of the property (to the left of the Fire Department garage bay doors on the Center Street side). All vehicles must park in these designated spaces only and between the lines provided. Parking is permitted in accordance with the provisions of §
135-26, entitled "Time Limit Parking."
Public parking is prohibited on the south side
of the property (to the right of the Fire Department garage bay doors
on the Old Highway 22 side), in front of the garage bays, in any unmarked
space on the north side of the parking lot, in any yellow-lined areas,
and in any manner that would impair ingress to and egress from either
the parking lot or the street. Public parking shall also be prohibited
when the parking lot is closed for maintenance, to accommodate special
Fire Department activities, and during periods of a snow emergency
as declared by the Chief of Police.
Parking in spaces identified as handicapped
parking is limited to persons who have been issued a handicapped parking
permit by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
Any unauthorized vehicle parked in violation
of these rules shall be issued a summons and towed by the police at
the vehicle owner's expense.
The parking spaces available for public parking pursuant to the terms of the agreement between the Clinton Fire Department and the Town of Clinton shall be considered a municipal parking lot and subject to the provisions governing municipal parking lots in §
135-8B of the Code of the Town of Clinton.
Any violations of this article shall be punished
by a fine not to exceed $50 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding
15 days, or both.
