[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lowville 10-7-1947. Amendments noted where applicable.]
A. 
That no person, firm or corporation shall operate a taxicab upon any of the public streets of the village without first having obtained a license so to do from the Village Clerk, which licenses shall expire not later than the fiscal year in which the same are issued.
B. 
The fee for any such license issued under the preceding section of this chapter shall be as set by resolution of the Board of Trustees from time to time,[1] shall be issued by the Village Clerk and shall be displayed by the licensee at all times when acting thereunder.[2]

All persons holding a license as herein before provided shall be subject to directions from an under the supervision of the Police Department of the village, or officers thereof.
In the event that any such person, firm or corporation holding a taxicab license, as herein provided, desires a parking space on the public streets of this village, the Police Department or officers thereof, subject to the approval of this Board, may mark off a space therefor for which such person shall pay to the Village of Lowville the monthly rental as set by resolution of the Board of Trustees from time to time[2].

Any person, firm or corporation, who shall violate or permit, suffer or allow anyone under his, their or its direction or control to violate any provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punishable by a fine not exceeding $250 or imprisonment not to exceed 15 days, or both, for each offense.
