[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Stony
Point 5-12-2009 by L.L. No. 2-2009. Amendments noted where applicable.]
This chapter shall be known as the "Town of Stony Point Engineer
Qualifications Law." It is adopted pursuant to Municipal Home Rule
§ 10 and intends to supersede New York State Public Officers
Law § 3 and New York State Town Law § 23(1).
The purpose of this chapter is to establish qualifications and
residency requirements for the appointment of a Town Engineer of the
Town of Stony Point.
A person appointed to the position of Town Engineer shall have
attained the age of 18 years; and shall, throughout his term of office,
have a residence in the State of New York; and shall meet all licensing
and certification requirements of the State of New York for a professional
engineer.
The invalidity of any clause, sentence, paragraph or provision
of this chapter shall not invalidate any other clause, sentence, paragraph
or part thereof.
This chapter shall take effect upon filing with the Secretary
of State.
