There shall be a County Auditor who shall be appointed by the
County Executive for the term of office for which the County Executive
is elected, subject to confirmation by the Legislature. He or she
shall be appointed on the basis of his or her experience and qualifications
for the duties of his or her office.

Editor’s Note: This local law was approved by the County
Legislature 8-7-2014 over the veto of the County Executive and was
approved at referendum 11-4-2014.
Except as otherwise provided in this Charter, the County Auditor
shall audit the financial records and accounts of all units of county
government charged with any duty relating to the funds of the county
or for which the county is responsible. The Auditor shall perform
such other and related duties required by the County Executive.
