There shall be a Commissioner of Human Rights who shall be appointed by the County Executive for the term of office for which the County Executive is elected, subject to confirmation by the Legislature. The Commissioner shall be appointed on the basis of experience and qualifications for the duties of the office.
Except as otherwise provided in this Charter, the Commissioner shall have and exercise all the powers and duties conferred or imposed by the General Municipal Law or any other law and shall perform such other and related duties required by the County Executive.
There shall be a Commission on Human Rights constituted in accordance with the General Municipal Law or any other law; provided, however, that its members shall be appointed by the County Executive, subject to confirmation by the Legislature. The Commission shall exercise all the powers and duties required by law and such other and related duties required by the County Executive.
