No person shall park a vehicle in any of the following places. Vehicles found parked in violation of the provisions of this section may be towed under the direction of an officer at the expense of the owner.
A. 
Within an intersection.
B. 
Upon any sidewalk.
C. 
Upon any crosswalk and within 10 feet of a crosswalk if so marked.
D. 
Upon the roadway where parking is permitted unless the vehicle is parked in the same direction as the flow of traffic and with both wheels within 12 inches of the curb or edge of roadway.
E. 
Upon any roadway where the parking of a vehicle will not leave a clear and unobstructed lane at least 10 feet wide for passing traffic.
F. 
Upon any street or highway within 10 feet of a fire hydrant.
G. 
Upon or in front of any private road or driveway.
H. 
Upon any street or highway within 10 feet of an intersection way, except alleys.
I. 
Within 15 feet of the wall of a fire station or directly across the street from such station, provided signs are erected acquainting the driver of such restriction.
J. 
Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when such stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic.
Prohibited parking enforcement is done when a sign is posted that is approved by the Town Manager with recommendation from the Police Chief.
A. 
No angle parking shall be allowed on a public way unless approved by the Town Manager.
It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle, other than one acting in an emergency, to park said vehicle on any street for a period of time longer than one-hour between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. of any day.
*Note Winter parking ban is from November 15 to April 15.
Snow emergency: There shall be no on-street parking when a snow emergency is declared by the DPW Director or Town Manager.
The Parking Clerk is an appointed position by the Town Manager for a one-year term with no remuneration. The Parking Clerk supervises and coordinates the processing of parking notices in the Town and may not perform other police functions. The Parking Clerk receives fines for violations, holds hearings for contested citations and notifies the Registrar of Motor Vehicles of any unresolved violations.
