Pursuant to the provisions of § 3-300 of the Village Law of the State of New York in lieu of any other residence requirements imposed by law, any appointed Village officer of the Village of West Haverstraw may reside within the County of Rockland, it being the county in which the Village of West Haverstraw is wholly situated.

As of January 1, 1985, the Village Clerk and/or Deputy Village Clerk need not be a resident of the Village of West Haverstraw, but must be a resident of New York State. As of January 1, 1985, the Village Clerk and/or Deputy Clerk be and hereby are authorized to continue to serve the Village of West Haverstraw as Village Clerk and/or Deputy Clerk.
