This chapter shall be known and cited as the "Plumbing and Drainage Code of the City of Peekskill."
The Examining Board of Plumbers shall be constituted and shall have the powers, functions and duties fixed by applicable provisions of the General City Law of the State of New York.
All matters pertaining to plumbing and drainage and to the Examining Board of Plumbers in the City of Peekskill shall be governed and regulated according to the applicable provisions of the General City Law of the State of New York to the extent that such matters are covered by said General City Law and not herein.
In all cases where the applicable plumbing and drainage provisions of the General City Law authorize the City to determine whether certain functions shall rest with the Board of Health or the Examining Board of Plumbers, said functions shall rest with and be controlled by the Examining Board of Plumbers of the City of Peekskill.

All plumbing and drainage work and all materials used in such work in the City of Peekskill shall be as prescribed herein and by the terms and provisions of the State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and the plumbing standards thereof, pursuant to acceptance of said code for the City of Peekskill by resolution of the Common Council enacted August 7, 1954, all of which shall be administered and enforced by the Director of Public Works in accordance with the Peekskill City Charter.
All members of the Examining Board of Plumbers previously appointed shall continue to serve until the expiration of the terms for which appointed.[1]
