The purpose of this article is to prevent the dumping or depositing of any solid objects or other debris in the catch basins, drainage ditches, and/or channels within the City of Brigantine which will thereby increase the effectiveness and efficiencies of said drainage systems and reduce water flow in times of heavy rain or flooding.

It shall be unlawful to dump, deposit or otherwise cause any trash, landscape debris, shopping carts or other solid materials or debris to be placed in any of the drainage systems within the City of Brigantine.
Any person who violates this article may be subject to a fine of up to 1,000, imprisonment for up to 90 days and/or community service for up to 90 days in the discretion of the Municipal Court Judge.
Any person seeing anyone violating this article should contact the Supervisor of the Department of Public Works at said Department of Public Works. The Supervisor of the Department of Public Works or his designee and the Brigantine Police Department are hereby authorized to issue a summons to any person who violates this article.
