[Adopted 7-27-1982 as Sec. 11-8 of the 1981 Revised General Ordinances]
Every hotel and multiple dwelling shall be equipped with smoke detectors or smoke alarms, or both, in conformance with rules and regulations promulgated by the Commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs, which rules and regulations specify the number, location, specifications, maintenance and periodic testing of smoke detectors and smoke alarms based upon the construction, size and design of such building and any other rules or regulations which the Commissioner considers necessary for the administration of the state law which is similar with this article.
This article is drafted in compliance with the above-named law and chapter and is to be administered pursuant to the rules and regulations of the aforementioned Commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs. The Building Inspector of the Borough is herewith authorized to administer the contents of this article pursuant to state law and regulations.
This article shall take effect immediately pursuant to law and shall be subject to the approval of the Commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs if such approval is required.
