As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
FIREARM
Includes a shotgun, air gun, air pistol, spring gun or rifle, rifles and pistols of any caliber, any implement which impels with force a pellet or single projectile of any kind (i.e., bow and arrow, slingshot, crossbow, etc.) or any other firearm as defined by the Penal Law of the State of New York, as amended.

No person, except law enforcement officers lawfully engaged in law enforcement duties or persons discharging weapons in self-defense, shall discharge a firearm (as defined herein) of any kind or description within the Town/Village of East Rochester.
A. 
Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding $250 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days, or both, for each such violation.
B. 
A violation of any provision of this chapter is also hereby declared to be a nuisance.
