The Department of Public Works is authorized
to issue parking permits upon application.
A parking permit shall be displayed from the
rear view mirror of the vehicle, so as to be clearly visible from
the front of the vehicle.
Any person holding a permit issued under this
article shall surrender it to the Director of the Department of Public
Works when any of the representations made in connection with the
issuance of the permit cease to be true.
No person shall make a false statement in connection
with an application for a parking permit or park a vehicle displaying
a parking permit at any time when he is not entitled to hold the permit.
Any person who violates the provisions of this
article is guilty of a civil infraction and shall be subject to a
fine of not less than $25 nor more than $1,000.
The provisions of this article shall not apply
to service or delivery vehicles which are being used to provide service
or make deliveries to dwellings in the designated area.
If any provision of this chapter or the application
thereof to any person or entity or circumstances is held invalid by
a court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of this chapter and
the application of such provisions to persons or entities or circumstances
other than those as to which it is held invalid shall not be affected
thereby. The powers conferred by this chapter shall be in addition
and supplemental to the powers conferred by any other law.
