A. Minimum fee: The minimum fee for a basic construction
permit covering any or all building, plumbing, fire protection, electrical
work shall be $50. All fees shall be rounded to the nearest dollar
amount.
(1) The building subcode fees shall be:
(a)
New construction and addition: $0.045 per cubic
foot with a minimum fee of $75; surcharge fee: $0.00265 per cubic
foot.
(b)
Alterations, renovations, repairs, reroofing
and siding:

(2) Elevator construction and inspection fees. In accordance
with levels authorized by the Elevator Safety Subcode of the Uniform
Construction Code.
(3) Plan review: 20% of amount charged for construction
permit. (This fee shall be due upon the calculation of the amount
of the construction per unit. It is nonrefundable. The amount paid
for this fee shall be credited toward the amount of the fee to be
charged for the construction permit.)
(4) Annual construction permit (per subcode):
(a)
One to 25 workers: $667 per worker.
(b)
In excess of 25 workers: $232 per worker.
(In addition, said facility or institution shall pay an annual
training fee per subcode of $140, which shall be remitted by the City
to the Bureau of Code Services, New Jersey Department of Community
Affairs.)
(5) Variation from the standards or requirement of the
Uniform Construction Code: $250.
(6) Construction Board of Appeals hearing: $250.
(7) High-pressure boilers, refrigeration systems, pressure
vessels, cross-connections and backflow preventers: $50.

During a public health emergency declared by the Governor of
New Jersey, the City's Uniform Construction Code (UCC) enforcing agency
shall waive all fees, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:27D-126b, associated
with a UCC permit application from a licensed restaurant or bar within
the City for approval of any tent, tensioned membrane structure or
canopy in the outdoor area of the restaurant or bar's premises so
as to provide cover from the elements when necessary. Nothing in this
section shall relieve a restaurant or bar from meeting all of the
requirements of the UCC or any other federal, state or local law,
regulation or ordinance in order for any such permit to be granted.
