[Adopted 12-16-1981 as Ord. No. 359 (Part
3 of Ch. 14 of the 1974 Code of the Township of Lopatcong)]
The Fire Chief of the Township of Lopatcong,
subject to approval by the Township Council, shall appoint no more
than 15 persons as fire police for said township.
The fire police shall act at all times under
the instruction of the Fire Chief, Chief of Police or the senior officer
or both fire companies who may be present at the scene of the fire.
The fire police, and each of them, are hereby
vested with all the powers of police officers of the township while
proceeding to, attending upon and returning from a fire to the end
that they shall preserve the peace and protect all property, both
public and private, and also provide for the safety of the inhabitants
of said township.
