Editor's Note: Chapter 144 of the 1976 Code was originally derived from Ord. No. 638, adopted 2-6-64, as amended.
No persons, except store owners and their employees, shall operate or use any store-owned, four-wheel cart, commonly known as a "shopping cart," on the streets of the City of Margate City, except directly from the store to the parking lot.
No person shall abandon or otherwise leave any shopping cart on the public sidewalks, public streets or public property or on private property without the express consent of the owner of said private property or tenant thereof.

Each violation of any provision of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment in the county jail for a term not exceeding 90 days, or both.
