No person shall detain or fail to return any book or other object borrowed from the Mount Laurel Free Public Library contrary to the rules and regulations of the library after 30 days has elapsed from the date of posting by certified mail, return receipt requested, of a notice demanding return thereof, addressed to said person at the last address furnished to the library.
No person shall willfully or maliciously cut, tear, deface, disfigure, damage or destroy any book or other object or any part thereof which is the property of the library, whether or not it is in the custody of such person.
No person with intent to defraud shall register or furnish a false name or address or use any card other than the one issued to said person for the purpose of borrowing any book or other objects from the library. The obtaining of any book or other object by means of the registration or furnishing of a false name or address or the use of a card other than the one issued to said person shall be prima facie evidence of intent to defraud.
The Library Board shall adopt and post in a conspicuous place in the Mount Laurel Free Public Library building, rules, regulations and procedures governing the borrowing of books or other objects which may be available for borrowing to the public.
No person shall remove any book or other object from the Mount Laurel Free Public Library without complying with the rules, regulations and procedures of the library for borrowing such items or articles.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment for 90 days, or both.
