No person shall operate or be employed at any
place where meats, poultry, fish or game is sold or offered for sale,
wholesale or retail, unless he shall first obtain a health certificate
from a physician duly authorized to practice medicine in the State
of Michigan and having his office in the Village of New Haven, stating
that such person is free from all contagious or infectious disease.
Every such person shall have such health certificate available at
his place of business or employment and upon demand by any Village
official, police officer or any other person charged with the enforcement
of this chapter shall produce said certificate.
No person shall keep or offer for sale, prepare
for consumption or manufacture any foodstuff in any market, store
or bakery, restaurant, hotel, public eating place, factory, railroad
or bus station, beer garden or any place where foodstuffs are offered
for sale unless he shall have first obtained a health certificate
from a physician duly authorized to practice medicine in the State
of Michigan having his office in the Village of New Haven, stating
that such person is free from all contagious or infectious disease.
It shall be the duty of the employer to see
that all persons employed by him and engaged in the handling of the
things herein mentioned by said employee has the certificate herein
mentioned.
It shall be the duty of every person engaged in the handling of meat, poultry, fish or game or the preparing for consumption, manufacturing or handling of any foodstuff to obtain annually the health certificate mentioned in §§
269-1 and
269-2 of this chapter.
The word "person" used in this chapter shall
constitute any person, firm or corporation.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be punished as set forth in Chapter
59, Municipal Civil Infractions, of the Code of the Village of New Haven.
