The Town shall award every contract for the procurement of goods or
services in accordance with the requirements of Massachusetts General Laws,
Chapter 30B, with the exception of those contracts which are specifically
exempted from the application of Chapter 30B pursuant to Section 1(b) of said
chapter.
By joint consent of the Board of Selectmen and a majority of the Finance Committee, the provisions of §
8-1 of this chapter may be waived in the event of an emergency, damage or injury to Town property or public ways which would restrict for an unreasonable length of time the normal operation of the Town.
Every contract for construction work, whether for alterations, repairs
or original construction, the estimated cost of which amounts to $2,500 or
more, shall be accompanied by a suitable bond for the performance of the same
or by the deposit of money or security to the amount of the estimated cost.
