This chapter shall be known as and may be cited as the "Town of Fenton Snowmobile Law."
The purpose of this chapter is to protect the public health, welfare and safety by regulating the operation of snowmobiles on public highways and places in the Town of Fenton in a manner which will be compatible with the use of such highways and places for vehicular and pedestrian travel and other uses and which will promote the safe and proper use of snowmobiles for recreation and commerce and minimize detrimental effects of such use on the environment.
The terms, words and phrases used in this chapter shall have the same meaning as such terms, words and phrases are defined in § 21.05 of the Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Law.

The operation of snowmobiles on highways and public ways of the town and of the County of Broome shall be subject to the applicable provisions of Articles 21 through 27 of the Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Law and the rules and regulations of the Office of Parks and Recreation.

Only the following streets or highways or portions thereof of the Town are hereby designated for the purpose of operation of snowmobiles on the shoulders and inside banks thereof, as authorized by § 25.05 of the Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Law:

Ketchum Road.
C. 
Monkey Run Road.
D. 
Potter Hill Road.
E. 
Fenner Hill Road.
F. 
Dumas Hill Road.
G. 
Youngs Road.
H. 
Pleasant Hill Road.
I. 
Winn Hill Road.
A. 
Unless otherwise specifically provided, any person who violates any provision of this chapter or of any rule, regulation or order adopted pursuant thereto shall be guilty of a traffic infraction, if such provision, rule, regulation or order is one which regulates traffic as specified in § 155 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law, but does not relate to snowmobiles, or a violation for any other offense.
B. 
A traffic infraction shall be punishable as provided in Subdivision b of § 1800 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law in the same manner as if the offense were a violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
