A.
The Chief of Police is hereby designated as the Traffic
Regulation Officer for the Borough of Fanwood and may promulgate traffic
regulations pursuant to the authority granted to this municipality
by N.J.S.A. 39:4-197 and 40:48-2.46.
B.
Such traffic regulations shall include but not be
limited to as they relate to municipal parking lots: the design and
display of parking limits; the transfer of parking permits; and the
number and location of permits and/or hourly parking stalls, etc.
Any traffic regulations promulgated by the Traffic Regulation Officer and in accordance with § 280-94 above shall provide for the posting of the proper signs as described in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and the approval of the appropriate authority whenever necessary.
Unless otherwise provided for by municipal ordinance
or state statute, any violation of traffic regulations promulgated
by the Traffic Regulation Officer shall be punished by a fine of not
exceeding $50.
Any action taken under this article by the Traffic
Regulation Officer shall be reported to the Public Safety Committee.
