No person shall manufacture explosives anywhere in the Township of Marple,
except that explosives may be produced in experimental quantities in the laboratories
of colleges and similar institutions for the purpose of investigation and
instruction, upon specific waiver of this chapter by the Board of Commissioners
of Marple Township.
From and after the effective date of this chapter it shall be unlawful
for any person to store or keep any explosives in a magazine in the Township
of Marple.
The form of application for a permit to move explosives will be furnished
by the Township Manager. Such application shall state:
A. From what point the explosives are to be shipped and
how they are to be transported to their storage location.
B. Any other pertinent information required by the Township
Manager.
The license fee shall be as set from time to time by resolution of the
Board of Commissioners per year for explosives and as set from time to time
by resolution of the Board of Commissioners per year for blasting caps, depending
on the amount to be used or any part thereof. The term of such permit shall
be for the remainder of the current calendar year for which the permit is
to be issued.
All explosives must be stored in a magazine or other building outside
of Marple Township, located, constructed and maintained in accordance with
Chapter 211, Storage, Handling and Use of Explosives, issued by the Pennsylvania
Department of Environmental Protection, Reference 42-1B(2)b.
