No person or persons shall offer for sale at public auction within this Village any merchandise without first obtaining a license to conduct such public auction from the Village Clerk-Treasurer. A license for this purpose may be obtained upon furnishing said Clerk-Treasurer with the name and address of the person or persons who will conduct said sale and payment of the license fee, such fee to be as set forth from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees.[1] Such license will be valid for seven consecutive days.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding $250 or to imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both.
