Pursuant to the provisions of § 130,
Subdivision 17, of the Town Law of the State of New York, the Town
of Hague, to preserve the quality of the waters of Lake George, hereby
regulates the anchoring of pleasure boats in these waters within and
bounding said Town from Indian Kettles on the north to a point on
the shoreline located due west of Temple Knoll and Waltonian Islands
on the south; said regulation being necessitated by the marked increase
in anchoring of boats for prolonged periods in this area, threatening
reservoir of untreated drinking water and water supply systems of
the property owners in this area and disturbing the peace and order
of this area and the proportionate increase in dangers to others resulting
therefrom.
As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
ANCHOR
To hold a vessel fast or secure it in a particular place
by means of an instrument that is attached to said vessel by cable
or rope and, being cast overboard, lays hold of the earth. The term
"anchor" does not include any mooring permits obtained pursuant to
the Environmental Conservation Law of the State of New York.
BOAT
Includes any vessel propelled on water in any other manner
than by hand.
PERSON
Includes an individual, society, club, firm, partnership,
corporation or association of persons, and the singular number shall
include the plural number.
WATERS
Embraces all waters to a distance of 200 feet from the west
shoreline of Lake George between Indian Kettles on the north and Friends
Point on the south, and all waters within the five-mile-per-hour speed
zone situated between Friends Point on the north and Temple Knoll
and Waltonian Islands on the south.
No person shall anchor any boat within these
waters, except in a case of emergency or at the direction of any police
officer, or to fish as prescribed in the rules and regulations promulgated
by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and
at no other times.

Any person violating any of the provisions of
this article shall be guilty of a violation, and any conviction thereof
shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment
in the Warren County Jail for not more than 15 days, or both such
fine and imprisonment.
