Editor's Note: This local law also superseded former Ch. 68,
Salaries and Compensations, adopted 4-10-1967 as L.L. No. 1-1967,
as amended.
The Board of Trustees of the Village of Valley
Stream shall fix from time to time the salaries of all officers and
employees of the Village. The Board of Trustees shall not fix the
salaries of the Mayor, Board of Trustees, Village Justice or Acting
Village Justice at an amount in excess of the amount respectively
established and set forth in the schedule of wages set forth in the
tentative budget.

Upon the effective date of the passage of this
section, any person shall be eligible to be appointed to or to hold
any office other than Mayor, Trustee or member of any board or commission
regardless of whether or not such person resides within the Incorporated
Village of Valley Stream, except that such appointed individual or
office holder must reside within the County of Nassau.
