116.4 Violation penalties: Any person who shall
violate a provision of the BOCA National Building Code, 1999, or fail
to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect,
construct, alter or repair a building or structure in violation of
an approved plan or directive of a building official or of a permit
or certificate issued under the provisions of the BOCA National Building
Code, 1999, shall be liable, on conviction thereof, to a penalty not
exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment for a period not exceeding 30 days,
or both, for each and every offense, and whenever such offense occurs
and whenever such person shall have been notified by the Building
Inspector by service of a summons in a prosecution, or in any other
way, that he has committed such violation of this chapter, each day
that he shall continue such violation after such notification shall
constitute a separate offense, punishable by a like fine or penalty.
Such fines or penalties shall be collected as fines and penalties
are now by law collected.

116.5 Imposition of double fines: Any contractor,
resident, owner, business owner or other entity who starts work without
having been granted the proper construction permits from the Borough
of Jenkintown will be fined double the original permit fees.

116.6 Technical permits: No technical permits shall
be issued until all prior approvals and technical applications have
been submitted and approved.

310.5.2 Multiple single-family dwellings: Multiple
single-family dwellings must have a two-foot offset between adjacent
units. Exceptions:

The exterior walls are rated one hour for a distance of four
feet from where the dwelling meets.

A two-foot masonry wing wall extends past the face of the dwelling
units where they have a common wall.

707.1.2 Use Groups R: All party walls and firewalls
shall be constructed of a minimum eight inches concrete, concrete
block or equal. Said walls shall be continuous from the foundation
to an area two feet eight inches above the adjoining roof surface
or as modified by Section 707.5.

Exception: Buildings equipped throughout with an automatic fire
suppression system that is monitored by an audible alarm and a central
station.

707.7 Combustible framing: There shall be no combustible
framing allowed in any firewall.

904.12 Use Groups S-2 and F-2: An automatic fire
suppression system that is monitored by a central station shall be
provided throughout Use Groups S-2 and F-2 as provided:

918.4.2 Use Group B: A fire protection signaling
system shall be installed and maintained in all buildings of Use Group
B. System must notify fire dispatch when activated.

M, S-1, S-2 and F-1. System must notify fire dispatch when activated
or when in trouble.

919.4.5 Other use groups: An automatic fire detection
system shall be installed and maintained in all buildings of Use Groups
B, F-1, F-2, S-1, S-2 and M. System must notify fire dispatch when
activated or when in trouble.

1601.1.2 Residential attics: A live load shall
be applied to joists or to bottom chords of trusses or trussed rafters
only in those portions of attic space having a clear height of 42
inches (1067 mm) or more between joist and rafter in conventional
rafter construction and between bottom chord and any other member
in trusses or trussed rafter construction. A ceiling live load reduction
to 20 pounds per square foot is permitted in areas under 42 inches'
clearance between rafters and ceiling joists.

1806.1.1 Minimum depth: Minimum depth of footings
shall be 36 inches from finished grade.

1810.6 Forming of concrete: Concrete footings shall not be cast against the earth. Forming shall be in accordance with Chapter 6 of ACI 318, listed in Chapter 35.

1812.3 Minimum thickness: Minimum thickness of
basement foundation walls shall be twelve-inch block or eight-inch
poured concrete.

2301.1.1 Minimum lumber grade: Minimum lumber grade
for any structural member shall be No. 2, as certified by the Western
Wood Association.

2305.13 Wall sheathing: Except as provided for
in Section 1405.3 for wallboard or where stucco construction that
complies with Section 2506.0 is installed, all enclosed buildings
shall be sheathed with one of the materials of the nominal thickness
specified in Table 2305.13.
