Pursuant to Section 1005, Clause VII, of "The Borough Code," as amended by Act No. 116 on July 3, 1963, the office of elected Borough Auditor in the Borough of Leetsdale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, is hereby abolished.
The Borough Council of Leetsdale shall appoint annually by resolution, a certified public accountant or a firm of certified public accountants to audit the accounts and other evidences of financial transactions of the Borough and Borough officers for the prior closing fiscal year, commencing with the 1963 fiscal year.
Any certified public accountant or firm of certified public accountants so employed by the Borough shall have the powers and duties and be subject to the same penalties as Borough auditors have in the past.
The report of the certified public accountant or firm of certified public accountants shall be subject to appeals in the same manner as were reports of Borough auditors in the past.
The compensation of the certified public accountant or firm of certified public accountants shall be fixed by Council at the time of employment and shall be paid out of Borough funds.
