A Shade Tree Commission is hereby created in and for the Borough of
Leetsdale. The said Commission shall be constituted as provided by law and
shall perform all the duties and may exercise all the powers conferred by
law upon Borough Shade Tree Commissions. Provided the Shade Tree Commission
now in office in the Borough shall constitute the Shade Tree Commission hereby
created and nothing herein shall affect the tenure of any of the members of
such Commission.

The Shade Tree Commission shall have authority to assess penalties for
violation of any provision of the Borough Code or of regulations of the Shade
Tree Commission which pertain to shade trees. Any person who shall violate
any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced
to pay a fine not exceeding $600 and costs and, in default of payment thereof,
shall be subject to imprisonment for a term not to exceed 30 days. Each day
that a violation of this chapter continues shall constitute a separate offense.
