The Secretary and Assistant Secretary of the
Township are the custodian of all records of the Township.
As used in this article, the following terms
have the meanings indicated:
RECORDS
Any papers, books, maps photographs or other documentary
materials, regardless of physical from or characteristics, made or
received by the Township under law or in connection with the exercise
of its powers and the discharge of it its duties.

The custodian of the records of the Township
shall provide a safe place for the keeping and storage of such records
and to protect such records from loss, damage or alterations to ensure
their integrity.
No person shall have access to records of the
Township without the permission of the custodian or his designee and
only in accordance with law.
The custodian of the records of the Township
shall be authorized to certify, when requested or required, the authenticity
of such records under the seal of the Township.

The Board of Commissioners of Lower Allen Township,
Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, intends to follow the current Municipal
Records Retention schedule proposed by the Pennsylvania Historical
and Museum Commission and approved by the Local Government Records
Committee.
