The governing body is desirous of establishing an annual allowance for active members of the North Arlington Volunteer Squad.
A. 
To qualify for the annual allowance a member must meet one of the following classifications:
(1) 
Active EMT.
(2) 
Probationary EMT.
(3) 
Probationary Non-EMT.
(4) 
Youth Squad EMT.
(5) 
Youth Squad Non-EMT.
(6) 
Other active. "Other active" is defined as a nonriding member holding one of the following positions in the organizations and/or a member serving the squad on a regular or steady basis: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Trustee, Captain, Lieutenant.
B. 
Members must be certified emergency medical technicians.
C. 
For purposes of establishing the minimum number of hours to qualify for the annual allowance, it shall be based on 39 tours of duty 12 hours per tour of duty throughout the year which shall commence on November 1 and end October 31.
D. 
To qualify for the full allowance members must complete a minimum of 39 tours of duty.
E. 
Members who do not meet the minimum number of required hours will be prorated.
F. 
If a member fails to complete at least 30 tours of duty for the year the member will not be eligible for any part of the annual allowance.
G. 
This applies to all certified active riding members in good standing.
H. 
In the event the number of hours in a tour of duty changes the allowance will be adjusted to reflect the change.
I. 
A separate policy will be instituted for those members assigned to the transport van.
The squad will maintain a detailed record of completed tours of duty for each member.

A. 
The annual allowance will be effective January 1, 2011.
(1) 
Active EMT: $700.
(2) 
Probationary EMT: $250.
(3) 
Probationary Non-EMT: $100.
(4) 
Youth Squad EMT: $200.
(5) 
Youth Squad Non-EMT: $100.
(6) 
Other active: $450.
B. 
The annual allowance shall be issued to members no later than December 31.

Retroactive to January 1, 2011, the following incentive compensation policy is effective:
A. 
Members who exceed the minimum hours of duty (468 hours) shall receive additional compensation at the rate of $25 for each additional 50 hours of duty spent in performing service to the squad.
B. 
The additional compensation shall not exceed $300, which is the equivalent of 600 hours.
A. 
Effective January 1, 1999, members holding the following positions in the squad will be entitled to extra duty compensation at the following rate:
(1) 
President: $200.
(2) 
Vice President: $200.
(3) 
Secretary: $200.
(4) 
Treasurer: $200.
(5) 
Trustee: $150.
(6) 
Captain: $200.
(7) 
Lieutenant: $100.
B. 
Members are entitled to extra-duty compensation only if they fall under the active riding member classification. Those who fall under any other classification are entitled only to the basic allowance as outlined.
