The position of Technical Assistant to the Construction
Official is hereby established. This position is created as set forth
in the guidelines of the Department of Community Affairs, Division
of Code and Standards certified forty-five-hour course.
The duties and powers of said position are to
perform such services as shall be required of him/her from time to
time by the Construction Official to assist the Construction Official
in the proper discharge in the day-to-day duties required by that
office.
The power of appointment of the Technical Assistant
is hereby vested in the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council.
The annual salary of the Technical Assistant
shall be as established by the annual Salary Ordinance, and he/she
shall receive all other compensation and benefits of other employees.
The initial compensation shall be between the range of $32,760 and
$43,680 per year.

The Technical Assistant is hereby deemed to
be a permanent classified civil service position.
