This article will pertain to any person, firm or corporation that owns, harbors, keeps and maintains any permissible pet as allowed by the Board of Health in Article I of this chapter, within the limits of the Borough of North Arlington.
Any pet that bites or attacks a human shall be quarantined for a period of 10 days within the confines of its owner's property or, if off the owner's property, be on a leash in the custody of some person or persons capable of controlling such animal.
The Board shall require that the animal shall not be released from quarantine until written proof of a licensed veterinarian's examination on the tenth day of quarantine and no later than the 15th day of quarantine stating that the animal is in good health. Said proof is to be furnished to the Health Officer or other Board of Health employee designated by the Board.
For violation of any provisions of this article, the maximum penalty shall, upon conviction of such violation, be a fine not less than $50 nor more than $500 for each day of the violation.
