In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 264, Laws of 1948 (N.J.S.A.
2A:8-1 et seq.), which Act is effective as of September 15, 1948, there is hereby established a Municipal Court in the Borough of
Paulsboro, Gloucester County, New Jersey, to be known as "Municipal Court
of the Borough of Paulsboro."
The Magistrate who shall preside over said Municipal Court shall serve
for a term of three years from the date of his appointment and until his successor
is appointed and qualified.
The governing body may by resolution provide for a Clerk and other necessary
assistants for said Municipal Court; and may by such resolution provide for
the compensation to be paid such Clerk and other assistants.
An ordinance entitled "An Ordinance authorizing the appointment of a
Recorder in the Borough of Paulsboro, Gloucester County, New Jersey, and fixing
the salary to be paid the Recorder," adopted July 16, 1946, together with
all other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with or in conflict
with the terms and provisions of this ordinance, is hereby repealed.
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon final passage and
publication as provided by law.

The Judge of the Municipal Court of the Borough of Paulsboro is authorized
to make decisions as to which defendants are indigent, and after a determination
is made, the Municipal Public Defender shall represent the defendant.

The Court Administrator shall charge a fee of not more than $200 per
application for a Public Defender. The fee may be waived upon a proper showing
of indigency without an ability to pay the application fee. The Judge of the
Municipal Court of the Borough of Paulsboro shall make the determination on
the ability to pay the fee and the determination of indigency.
The application fee shall be used to help defray the cost of hiring
a Public Defender and in the administrative costs of the Municipal Court of
the Borough of Paulsboro.
