The Fire Chief shall be in charge of the Paulsboro
Fire Department and shall be assisted in the performance of his/her
duties by the Deputy and the Assistant Fire Chiefs. He/she shall be
in charge at all fires, when he/she is present, and, in his/her absence,
the Deputy or Assistant Chief shall be in charge. Should neither the
Fire Chief nor the Deputy or Assistant Fire Chiefs be present at a
fire, the highest ranking line officer present of the Paulsboro Fire
Department shall take charge of all fire fighters and equipment in
fighting the fire. He/she shall perform all the duties respective
to his/her office as set forth by the Paulsboro Fire Department as
well as the Borough Ordinance.
The Captain(s) and Lieutenant(s) shall perform
all duties respective to their office as set forth by the Borough
Fire Chief and the Paulsboro Fire Department.
The Chief Fire Marshal and Assistant Fire Marshal(s)
shall be responsible for the public education of fire prevention.
They shall inspect all fire scenes and submit reports as required.
He/she shall follow the rules and regulations as set forth by the
Paulsboro Fire Department, Borough Ordinance, and the New Jersey State
Uniform Fire Code.
Any malfunction of fire hydrants shall be reported
to the Fire Chief for immediate repair or replacement. The Fire Chief
shall then contact immediately the Borough of Paulsboro's Water Superintendent
and Chairman of the Utilities Committee of Borough Council to inform
them of the fire hydrants which have to be repaired or replaced.
The Fire Chief, and through his/her officers,
shall see that fire drills are held monthly for the training of the
members of the Paulsboro Fire Department in the use of the fire apparatus
and equipment of the Borough.
