No person shall park a vehicle in a parking space that has been designated a restricted parking space for use by persons who have been issued special vehicle identification cards by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission unless the person has such card.
Upon the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety and the Township Engineer each restricted parking space shall be designated by resolution and placed on a list to be available in the offices of the Township Clerk and Township Engineer.
Any person parking a motor vehicle in a restricted parking space without a special vehicle identification card shall be liable to a fine of $250 for the first offense and, for subsequent offenses, a fine of at least $250 and up to 90 days' community service on such terms and in such form as the court shall deem appropriate, or any combination thereof. In addition, any vehicle illegally parked in a space reserved for persons with disabilities may be towed.
