The purpose of this chapter is to ensure passenger comfort and safety by prohibiting disruptive and dangerous conduct aboard all Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority and Regional Transit Service, Inc., buses.
The following conduct is prohibited on all Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority and Regional Transit Service, Inc., buses in regular omnibus service:
A. 
No person shall operate or use any radio, phonograph, tape recorder or any other sound reproduction device in or on any Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority or Regional Transit Service, Inc., bus in such a manner that the sound emanating from such sound reproduction device is audible to another person.
B. 
No person on any Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority or Regional Transit Service, Inc., bus shall conduct themselves in a manner disruptive to either the bus driver or other bus passengers. Such disruptive behavior includes but is not limited to abusive, loud or obscene language, the making of an obscene gesture, fighting, horseplay or any other hazardous or physically offensive conduct which serves no legitimate purpose.
C. 
No person shall consume food or liquids in or on any Rochester-Gensee Regional Transportation Authority or Regional Transit Service, Inc., bus nor shall any person consume or carry aboard open containers of alcoholic beverages.
D. 
No person shall smoke aboard any Rochester-Genesee Regional Transporation Authority or Regional Transit Service, Inc., bus.
E. 
No person shall board or remain on any Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority or Regional Transit Service, Inc., bus with an animal, except when such animal is a Seeing Eye dog.
F. 
No person shall be allowed to remain on board any Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority or Regional Transit Service, Inc., bus after refusing to or failing to pay the established fare.
G. 
No person shall discard litter of any kind on any Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority or Regional Transit Service, Inc., bus.
H. 
No person shall spit or expectorate in or upon any Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority or Regional Transit Service, Inc., bus.
I. 
No person shall write, mark, scratch, scribble or scrawl upon or otherwise vandalize, deface or mutilate any Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority or Regional Transit Service, Inc., bus.
Breach of this chapter shall constitute a violation and shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $150 or by imprisonment not exceeding 15 days or by the performance of community services as shall be prescribed by the court.
