A person is guilty of criminal possession of
a deadly weapon when he possesses any dagger, dangerous knife, dirk,
razor, stiletto, imitation pistol, firearm or other deadly weapon,
as defined in New York State Penal Law § 10.00, Subdivision
12, in or upon a building or office owned, leased or operated by the
County of Monroe, unless the possessor of such weapon has a lawful
permit to possess such weapon pursuant to § 400.00 of the
Penal Law of the State of New York.
This Article shall not prohibit authorized peace
officers and police officers, as defined in the New York State Criminal
Procedure Law, from carrying or possessing firearms or other weapons
in county-owned, -leased or -operated buildings.
Violation of this article is a misdemeanor and
shall be punished by a confinement in the county jail for a term not
to exceed three months and a fine not to exceed $500.
