The Town of Haddam, in accordance with the provisions of C.G.S. § 8-4a, as amended, designates its Planning Commission and Zoning Commission as the Planning and Zoning Commission, which single Commission shall thereupon have all the powers and duties of, and shall supersede both previously independent commissions; the Planning and Zoning Commission shall consist of eight voting members until November 1971 and then seven members thereafter.[1]

John Moore, elected to take office 1970 to replace T. C. Dunham. E. Allen's term expires in November 1971 leaving a seven-man board. Two new members will be elected in 1971 to take office in 1972. Thereafter, three new members will be elected in 1973, two to take office in 1973, one to take office in 1974, and four new members will be elected in 1975, two take office in 1975 and two to take office in 1976. This election cycle will be repeated. Terms of office will be for four years.
The Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town of Haddam shall have all the powers and duties of both a Planning Commission and a Zoning Commission and all ordinances and regulations of the Planning Commission of the Town of Haddam are ordinances and regulations for the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town of Haddam.
