Pursuant to C.G.S. § 22a-42(c), there
shall be an inland wetlands and watercourses agency of the Town of
Haddam, known as the "Wetlands Commission."
The Wetlands Commission shall consist of seven
members and two alternates. Three members shall be appointed to terms
ending May 1, 1995; two members and one alternate to terms ending
May 1, 1996; and two members and one alternate to terms ending May
1, 1997. Thereafter, all terms will be for a period of three years.
In accordance with the Town Charter, members
and alternates shall be appointed and removed by the First Selectman,
with the approval of the Board of Selectmen. Any vacancy shall be
filled in the same manner for the unexpired portion of the vacant
term. Current members and alternates to the Conservation Commission
shall serve on the Wetlands Commission until new members are appointed.
The Wetlands Commission is authorized to adopt
and amend and change regulations pertaining to inland wetlands and
watercourses located with in the Town, including the establishment
and amendment and changes of boundaries of inland wetland areas within
the territorial limits of the Town. Such regulations and boundaries
shall be established and amended and changed in the manner provided
in the Connecticut General Statutes, as amended, the applicable regulations
of the Connecticut Commissioner of Environmental Protection, as amended,
and the regulations of the Wetlands Commission, as amended.
