No sanitary landfill sites shall be permitted
in Price County except in conformance with rules and regulations of
the Wisconsin Administrative Code.
A. Sanitary landfills shall not be located within shoreland
areas.
B. All such sanitary landfills shall have minimum front,
side, and rear yards of 100 feet each.
C. The sanitary landfill shall be enclosed by a suitable
screening so that the materials are not visible from other property
in the vicinity of the landfill nor from a public right-of-way such
as roads, streets, highways, and waterways.
D. A permit shall be obtained from the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) and/or Department of Natural Resources certifying
that the sanitary landfill will not pollute the groundwater and surface
water in the area.
E. An unobstructed firebreak one rod wide completely
surrounding the sanitary landfill shall be maintained for fire protection,
and the sanitary landfill shall be enclosed by woven-wire fence to
prevent the spreading of burning materials.
F. No solid or liquid waste shall be commercially transported
into Price County for storage or disposal purposes.
