There is hereby authorized and established zones to be known
as parking meter zones for on-street parking as described in Schedule
VII and off-street parking as described in Schedule VIII.
The Township Council of this municipality shall cause parking
meters to be installed in all zones established as parking meter zones
in this chapter, at the discretion of said Township Council.
It shall be unlawful for the owner or operator of any vehicle
to park such vehicle between the hours as described in Schedule VII
(on-street parking) and Schedule VIII (off-street parking) on any
day (except Sundays and public holidays) upon portions of any street
designated in Schedule VII in any parking meter zone where parking
meters have been installed, unless specific payments are made as hereinafter
designated.
On the streets so designated for parking meter zones, the Parking
Authority shall, by appropriate markings, outline individual parking
spaces, to join each of which parking spaces shall be erected a parking
meter which, upon the deposit of a coin as hereinafter provided, will
indicate the duration of the legal parking period and the time when
such period has elapsed.

A. The owner or operator of a vehicle shall, immediately upon entering
a parking space, deposit one or more coins of the United States of
America in the parking meter adjoining such parking space and turn
the lever to cause the parking meter to operate. Failure to deposit
the coin or coins or to turn the lever to operate will constitute
a violation of this section.
B. The fee for all parking meters shall be $0.50 per hour for the first two hours of parking. For all hours beyond two, the rate schedule shall increase progressively per hour, as provided in §§
477-65 and
477-66.
No person shall cause a vehicle to remain in or to be parked
in a parking space adjacent to any parking meter while such meter
displays a signal indicating the period of time for such parking has
expired.
It shall be unlawful for any person to cause, allow, permit
or suffer any such vehicle, registered in his or her name, to be parked
in parking meter zones herein designated or to be hereafter designated,
in violation of the provisions of this article.
It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle across any line or
marking designated a parking space or to park said vehicle in any
way that the same will not wholly be within a parking space as designated
by said markings.
It shall be unlawful to deposit or cause to be deposited in
any parking meter a slug, device or metallic substitute for a coin
of the United States of America.
It shall be unlawful to deface, tamper with, damage, unlawfully
open or willfully break, destroy or impair the usefulness of any parking
meter installed under the terms of this article.
Nothing contained in this article shall be construed to permit
parking of vehicles in those spaces within any zone in which by other
articles the parking of vehicles is prohibited.
