No person or persons shall feed, cause to be
fed or provide food for Canada geese in the Township of Toms River
on property either publicly or privately owned.
This article shall not be construed to prohibit
humane acts toward Canada geese in individual cases, such as the temporary
nurturing of a wounded bird on one's own premises.
No person shall abandon, leave or discard any
Canada geese upon any public or private property within the Township
of Toms River.
The Police Department, Code Enforcement Officer,
the Board of Health and the Township of Toms River Animal Control
Officers are hereby authorized and directed to enforce the provisions
of this article.
Any person, firm or corporation who violates
or neglects to comply with any provision of this article or any rule
or regulation promulgated thereto shall be punishable, upon conviction
thereof, by a fine not to exceed $100. As an alternate penalty, a
convicted person may be ordered to perform community service not to
exceed 10 hours.
