Highway Superintendent — See Ch. 25.
There is hereby established the Town of Sand Lake Department of Public Works, the administrative head of which shall be the Commissioner of Public Works. Such Commissioner of Public Works shall also hold the title and succeed to all powers and duties of the Superintendent of Highways. The Commissioner of Public Works shall serve a term of two years ending January 1 after each biennial town election. The functions of the Highway Department, the Sewer District, the landfill, the Building Department and the Zoning Officer are hereby transferred to the Department of Public Works.
There are hereby established the offices of Deputy Commissioner of Highways, Deputy Commissioner of Sewers, Deputy Commissioner of Building and Zoning and Deputy Commissioner of Solid Waste Management, each of which shall serve at the pleasure of the Town Board, with the exception of the Deputy Commissioner of Highways who shall serve at the pleasure of the Commissioner of Public Works. There shall be two Deputy Commissioners of Building and Zoning, who shall, subject to the direction of the Commissioner of Public Works, possess all of the powers and duties of the Building Inspector, Code Enforcement Officer and Fire Code Inspector under the provisions of Town Law, the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Construction Code and Chapter 88, Building Construction and Fire Prevention, and all the powers and duties of the Zoning Officer pursuant to Chapter 250, Zoning. The Deputy Commissioner of Sewers shall hold the title and, subject to the direction of the Commissioner of Public Works, possess all the powers and duties of the Sewer Inspector pursuant to Chapter 205, Sewers, Part 1, Sewer Use.
