Pursuant to Public Act 18 of the Extra Session
of 1933, as amended, there is hereby established a commission in and
for the City to be known as the Monroe Housing Commission.

A. The Monroe Housing Commission shall be comprised of
five persons who shall be appointed by the Mayor and who shall represent,
insofar as possible, different professions or occupations.
B. All of the appointments shall be subject to approval
by a majority of the City Council.
C. The terms of each appointed member shall be five years
or until his or her successor takes office. Members of the first Commission
shall be appointed for terms of one year, two years, three years,
four years and five years.
D. Members of the Commission shall serve without compensation
and may be removed from office by the appointing authority.
E. Any vacancy in office shall be filled by the appointing
authority for the remainder of the unexpired term.
