Act 1 of the Public Acts of 1966, as amended, being
MCLA § 125.1351 et seq., as amended (The Barrier-Free Law),
is hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this chapter with
the same force and effect as though set out in full herein, except
for any changes, additions or deletions specified in this chapter.
One complete copy of The Barrier-Free Law, as adopted in Subsection A hereof, shall be on file in the office of the Building Official for public inspection and use. Printed copies of such Code shall be available in the Building Official's office for distribution to the public, at cost, at all reasonable times.
Arrangements for public use and inspection of The
Barrier-Free Law by disabled individuals will be made with reasonable
notice to the Department of Building, Zoning and Environmental Compliance
in accordance with the policy established by the City.
The 1992 Edition of CABO/ANSI (Council of American
Building Officials/American National Standards Institute) Standard
A117.1, Accessibility and Usable Buildings and Facilities, is hereby
adopted by reference and made a part of this chapter with the same
force and effect as though set out in full herein, except for any
changes, additions or deletions specified in this chapter.
One complete copy of Standard A117.1, as adopted in Subsection A hereof, shall be on file in the office of the Building Official for public inspection and use. Printed copies of such standard shall be available in the Building Official's office for distribution to the public, at cost, at all reasonable times.

In the event of a conflict between any of the provisions of The Barrier-Free Law, as adopted in § 275-4, or any of the provisions of CABO/ANSI Standard A117.1, as adopted in § 275-5, and a provision of any local ordinance, resolution, rule or regulation, the local ordinance, resolution, rule or regulation shall control.
In the event of a conflict between any of the provisions
of such standard and a provision of any state law, rule or regulation,
the state law, rule or regulation shall control.
In the event of a conflict between any of the provisions
of such law or standard and a provision of any other technical code
adopted by reference by the City, the stricter or higher standard
shall control.
