The provisions of this article shall apply except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device.

No vehicle shall be parked on any public highway within the corporate limits within the Village of Harriman between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the period beginning November 1 and ending April 1 of each year.
The parking or standing of vehicles is hereby prohibited in any of the established handicapped parking spaces described in Schedule X (§ 132-44), attached to and made a part of this chapter, except those vehicles displaying a parking permit for handicapped persons, pursuant to § 1203-a of the Vehicle and Traffic law.
No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XI (§ 132-45), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stop a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XII (§ 132-46), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stand a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XIII (§ 132-47), attached to and made a part of this chapter.

Wherever in this chapter, including the schedules hereto, parking or standing on streets, roadways or public highways, or any parts thereof, is prohibited, it shall be a violation of this chapter if any part of a vehicle extends over the curbline of such street, roadway or public highway
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule XIV (§ 132-48) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XIV, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stop a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule XV (§ 132-49) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XV, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stand a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule XVI (§ 132-50) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XVI, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in Schedule XVII (§ 132-51) at any time between the hours listed in said Schedule XVII of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XVII, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XVIII (§ 132-52) except at the angle designated and only within the painted stall lines. On all streets or portions thereof where angle parking is now or shall hereafter be authorized, all vehicles parked thereon shall be parked with the front thereof nearest the curb.
The locations described in Schedule XIX (§ 132-53), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as loading zones.
The locations described in Schedule XX (§ 132-54), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as taxi stands.

The following fire lanes and or fire zones are hereby established in the Village of Harriman and are delineated and/or marked as described in Schedule XXII (§ 132-56), which descriptions constitute the legal established limits of said fire lanes and on which fire lanes all parking or standing shall be prohibited.
The locations described in Schedule XXI (§ 132-55), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as bus stops.
