Township of Stillwater, NJ Chapter 229 Housing Standards

§ 229-1 Adoption of standards by reference.

In accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40-49-5.1, the New Jersey State Housing Code, current edition, as set forth in N.J.A.C. 5:28-1.1 et seq., as amended, is hereby adopted as a standard governing supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to make dwellings safe, sanitary and fit for human habitation, occupancy or use and governing the condition of dwellings. Three copies of said New Jersey State Housing Code have been placed on file in the office of the Clerk for the use and examination of the public.

§ 229-2 Administrative and enforcing authority.

The administrative and enforcing authority for the provisions of this chapter shall be the Construction Official of the Township of Stillwater.

§ 229-3 Fees.

For a change of occupancy or change of ownership of a dwelling or other building, the fee shall be $75 per living unit or structure. (Rental unit fees unchanged.)

§ 229-4 Violations and penalties.

Any person, firm or corporation convicted of violation of any provision of this chapter shall be subject to the penalties set forth in Chapter 1, Article III, General Penalty.
